A quote from Charlie "Tremendous" Jones:

"Excellence is not determined by how strong you are in some area; it's using what you have to be a little bit better..."

That reminds me of a story I heard once.

There was this pastor who could not read. No one in his congregation knew he could not read except for one of his deacons. He would have this deacon read a passage from the Scriptures every Sunday morning, and then the pastor would preach on it.

The amazing thing was that the pastor always had 3 points to every sermon, no matter what Bible passage the deacon read from.

Well, one Sunday morning the deacon could not be at church as he was sick.

The pastor had to make a quick decision as to what to do, so he decided he would just try reading it himself.

He opened his Bible and the first thing he read was the name "Nebuchadnezzar". He read it as "Nebuck had a razor".
Joking/playful fun

Then he began to preach.

He said there are 3 questions we need to ask:

He went on to explain that it didn't matter who Nebuck was, and it did not matter where he got the razor. What really mattered is what Nebuck did with that razor once he got it.

Funny little story, but great point!

It doesn't matter who we are or what talents or gifts, or abilities we have been given. What really matters is what we do with the talents, gifts, and abilities that we have been given.

Charlie "T" Jones is a great motivational speaker. He is like 70-some years old.

I think he has also written some books, but I don't know what they are. Embarassed

We have heard him in person at some of our business conventions.

He really promotes reading books. It is one of his main points in every speech that he gives.
