Here is the press release that got sent out regarding S.E. Gregg's book tour:
| Quote: | “The Christian Olympics‘” First Virtual Book Tour To Launch November 5, 2007
Best-selling author and Bible curriculum writer, S. E. Gregg will embark on the first eight-website tour on Monday, November 5,2007 for “The Christian Olympics-Going for the Gold Crowns”, the unveiling of the Bible’s comparison of the Christian race to the Olympic Games. Tour events include blogging, forum discussions, interviews and book reviews.
Wynnewood, PA, November 2,2007
Have you ever wanted to meet your favorite author during a book tour, but their stops were too far for you to attend? Do you wish book tours allowed you the chance to chat with an author and ask questions? Then you will want to follow S. E. Gregg’s upcoming Virtual Book Tour. S. E. Gregg, author of “The Christian Olympics-Going for the Gold Crowns”, about the most enormous and longest competition this world has ever seen, will embark on an eight-stop Virtual Book Tour November 5-14,2007.
During a Virtual Book Tour, an author visits specific lineup of websites or weblogs, similar to a real-life book tour, where stops are made at brick and mortar bookstores. Each day the author visits a different website from the comfort of their home.
S. E Gregg, a “spiritual marathon runner” for several decades, is very excited about running by these eight websites on the way to the “Finish Line“:
1. Monday November 5,2007- www.Crosswalk.com -Forum
2. Tuesday November 6,2007- www.rhinoprints.net/bbs -I Can In Christ -Forum

“The Christian Olympics-Going for the Gold Crowns” will give you a new understanding and exhilaration for the Christian life. When your life is pursued with the vigor of a spiritual athlete, it helps you to endure your problems and suffering, while stroking the fires of passionate living for God as you look forward to receiving your gold crown(s). This 160-page book with seven chapters helps readers to actually visualize themselves in a spiritual athletic competition, which has never been done before in a book. It is “Enthusiastically recommended as inspirational reading for all practicing Christians” Midwest Book Review, Oregon, WI USA |

Hi S.E. Welcome to the bbs. It is good to have you here for your book tour.
I am not sure how this is supposed to work. I guess I will get the ball rolling by asking a couple questions.
Your book compares the Christian life/walk/run to the actual running of a race. Have you done much actual running of races? I was wondering if you were a marathon runner at some point in your life and were inspired by that. _________________

I didn't know there was such a thing as an actual Christian Olympics. Where does it take place?
Or are you referring to the spiritual "olympics" that your book is about - i.e. the "running of the good race"?
Be sure to see my question above your previous post. _________________

Good Morning rhinorick,
Thank you for the warm welcome.
That is a very good question.
I have been a "spiritual" marathon runner for several decades which is true of every Christian that has been running for Jesus for a long time. _________________ WWW.CHRISTIANOLYMPICS.ORG |

Oh, ok. Cool. I thought maybe you had been an actual runner and had drawn from your experience "on the track".
Yes, we who have been running the race and fighting the good fight are indeed marathon runners. We were never promised a short, quick sprint. _________________

Ok, cool. So ... when did it start? I am assuming it "began" with the ministry of Jesus as He taught the disciples and then really kicked into being with the giving of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, when the church was established. _________________

This is so exciting to talk about.I have to calm down.
Yes,it started on the Day of Pentecost. In fact it was the 'divine' Opening Ceremony. Can you just picture this: the fire of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost was reminiscent of the lighting of the Olympic flame for the opening cermony of the Olympic Games. _________________ WWW.CHRISTIANOLYMPICS.ORG |

This book is inspired by God and full of analogies comparing the Christian race to the Olympic Games from the scriptures.
Here is more excitement :the scriptures reveal that not only did we have a 'divine' Opening ceremony, but we also have a Closing and Reward Ceremony. _________________ WWW.CHRISTIANOLYMPICS.ORG |

What a wonderful ending we will have at the greatest award ceremony ever!! Oh wow. What a day that will be. I think it will truly be more than we ever hoped or dreamed it would be. So cool!
What a way to end a race that sometimes gets really hard to run. |

Amen Ruby,
I believe you are right it will be more than we would ever think or dream.
Looking forward to those things that are before and pressing toward the mark(Phil.3:13-14) will keep us going.
I think that is why God compares the Christian life to an athlete because it does get very hard sometimes. But when we see ourselves as spiritual athletes, it gives us a better understanding of what we are going through.
And it helps us to endure like an athlete does. _________________ WWW.CHRISTIANOLYMPICS.ORG |

Thank you S.E. for making the RhinoPrints BBS a part of your book tour. I am sorry that Ruby and I were the only ones to get to "meet" you. I was hoping someone else would show up. Well, I hope they will enjoy the thoughts shared here when they stop by later on.
I pray that the Lord uses your book ministry in a major way to encourage many believers to keep "running the race" and to "keep moving forward".
I hope you will not be a stranger here. _________________

Good point you bring up there Sue.
As long as we have life left in us ... we still have racing to do. The race is not over. Even Paul, in his old age, said he has not yet reached the goal and kept running for the prize.
I look forward to reading this book. I hope others here will also. Then we can all discuss it more in depth. _________________
